DMC3 HD Texture Extractor, Viewer & DDS/PTX Research — DMC Rengine
A practical DMC3 texture extractor and viewer entry point connecting NBZ/PAC/PNST materialization with DDS/PTX framing and model-facing texture research. The hub preserves the distinction between physical texture representations and keeps extraction or preview separate from stronger replacement and reintegration claims.
Texture resources are related, not identical
- DMC Rengine distinguishes PTX bundle or container-like framing, descriptor-plus-DDS texture slots, directly recognizable DDS resources and runtime GPU texture identity so tooling does not flatten every image into one fictional binary format.
- The canonical reader path can expose validated framing metadata such as dimensions, mip information and compression-facing fields where evidence supports them, while preserving unresolved auxiliary bytes and relationships.
- Model-facing texture slots and companion entries link model research to texture resources, but those identifiers remain separate from the extracted DDS payload and from runtime texture objects.
Extract and inspect before claiming replacement
- The current public vocabulary can truthfully use texture extraction, recognition and inspection for supported paths while avoiding blanket claims of production texel editing, conversion or original-game texture replacement.
- DMC Native Reader can provide user-facing previews and metadata where current builds support them; DMC Rengine remains the parser/evidence authority and GDSpaces/PocketGDS supplies the archive path to the texture-bearing resource.
- As writer and reintegration evidence matures, replacement or repack workflows can be added as their own guide level rather than retroactively redefining what the current extractor and viewer pages promise.
Evidence boundary
A parser is not automatically a writer. A successful writer is not automatically equivalent to Capcom's offline tools. Synthetic validation does not establish original-game behavioral equivalence.
